
Free Family Fun at the NHS Fall Carnival!


Story City Main Street is thrilled to announce our upcoming Yulefest Weekend — and this year we’re celebrating 25 years of Main Street magic! As part of the festivities, we’re hosting the 1st Young Yulefest Ambassador Contest.
This fun, community-centered event is open to children ages 3 through kindergarten. One young lady and one young man will be selected as Story City’s Young Yulefest Ambassadors, and all participants will receive a prize!
Important details:
Entry deadline: Wednesday, October 16th, 2025, by 4:00 pm.
Registration fee: $5 per child (supports Yulefest).
Voting period: October 27 – November 24, 2025.
Ambassadors announced: Friday, November 28th at 6:00 pm during the Yulefest Tree Lighting.
Funds raised will benefit Young Reader Programs in the Story City community.
Each participant will be paired with a local business sponsor, and collection containers will be placed around town for community voting.

The Kindergarten team at R-S Elem, accepted the first #SailNorse team challenge! They captured videos of their students in action to help share our story!
Their prize.....these coveted #SailNorse t-shirts!

On Friday, May 16th Matt Patton received the Iowa Bandmasters Association Outstanding Administrator Superintendent Award!
This statewide award recognizes administration particularly supportive of the music and fine arts programs in their district.
